# Install GPT for Workspace & 365

> Step-by-step guide to install ChatGPT for Google Workspace for Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms.

## Install ChatGPT for Google Workspace

ChatGPT for Google Workspace works with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Install it once and use it in all four apps.

### Installation Steps (Same for All Apps)

    Open any of these apps:

    * Google Docs
    * Google Sheets
    * Google Slides
    * Google Forms

  <Step title="Install the add-on">
    1. Click **Extensions** in the menu
    2. Select **Get add-ons**
    3. Search for "ChatGPT for Google Workspace"
    4. Click **Install**
    5. Grant the necessary permissions
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open ChatGPT for Google Workspace">
    1. Click **Extensions** in the menu
    2. Select **ChatGPT for Google Workspace**
    3. Click **🚀 Launch GPT**
    4. The sidebar will open on the right
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start using it">
    1. Select any content in your app (text, cells, slide content, form questions)
    2. Type your request in the chat box
    3. The AI will process your request and show results in the chat panel
  </Step>

### What You Can Do in Each App

**Google Docs:** Rewrite text, summarize documents, generate outlines, translate content

**Google Sheets:** Classify data, summarize insights, generate formulas, analyze trends

**Google Slides:** Generate content, create speaker notes, rewrite for tone, translate slides

**Google Forms:** Generate questions, analyze responses, create reports, improve wording

## Troubleshooting

    Make sure you're using the Google Workspace Marketplace:

    1. In your Google app, click **Extensions** → **Get add-ons**
    2. Search for "ChatGPT for Google Workspace" (not just "ChatGPT")
    3. If you still don't see it, try clearing your browser cache and refreshing

    The app needs permission to access your documents:

    1. Click **Grant permissions** when prompted
    2. Allow access to read and modify your documents
    3. Allow display of content in sidebars
    4. Sign out and sign back in if the error persists

    Try these steps:

    1. Refresh your browser or app
    2. Sign out and sign back in
    3. Clear your browser cache
    4. Try a different browser
    5. If the issue persists, contact support

    Some organizations require admin approval for third-party apps. Contact your IT department to:

    * Approve ChatGPT for Google Workspace for your organization
    * Grant the necessary permissions

    Once approved, you'll be able to install it normally.
